McAfee report highlights increasing threats to sensitive data stored in the cloud

Threats to data stored in the cloud have increased almost 28 percent year over year due to issues stemming from insider threats and compromised accounts, a new study released Monday night by cyber company McAfee found.

McAfee's 2018 Cloud Adoption and Risk report also found that organizations studied have more than 2,200 individual misconfiguration incidents per month in their public cloud, and that the sharing of sensitive information through an open, publicly accessible link has increased by 23 percent...
