IT industry official says ‘modernization’ is key to improved cybersecurity

A representative for the information technology industry told House lawmakers that modernization of the government's IT systems is key to promoting cybersecurity as part of acquisition reforms.

“We recommended that the path to achieving the new administrations’ stated goal of increased cybersecurity protections for government networks was through IT modernization,” A.R. “Trey” Hodgkins told the House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee on information technology Tuesday.
