HHS issues notice on ransomware after Petya attack

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has provided the health sector guidance on responding to ransomware attacks and mitigating such threats in the aftermath of Tuesday’s “Petya” cyber attacks in Europe.

“The U.S. government is aware of an international ransomware campaign that may be affecting Healthcare and Public Health Sector assets in addition to other Sectors,” the HHS email notice states. “Please review the information below and share with colleagues....
