FTC reaches settlement with companies over U.S.-EU Privacy Shield claims

The Federal Trade Commission has reached settlement in three cases in which the commission alleged that companies misled consumers by saying they participated in the European Union-U.S. Privacy Shield framework, which allows companies to transfer consumer data between the EU and U.S. in compliance with EU privacy law.
