FTC commissioners to discuss privacy and data security issues before Senate Commerce panel

Members of the Federal Trade Commission will discuss whether the FTC should have “expanded authority” on data security and privacy issues during a Senate Commerce subcommittee oversight hearing next week, which will also focus on priorities involving consumer protection and innovation.
