FCC security advisory group to vote on wireless protocol report

The Federal Communications Commission’s advisory panel on security is set to vote today on a report with recommendations on how to secure wireless protocols, which will be presented by an internal working group at the agency’s headquarters.

The report is the first of three that the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council has tasked “working group 3” with completing. The report on wireless protocols, such as “Diameter,” will be followed by reports on best practices for securing IP...
