European Council backs cybersecurity certification in policy recommendations

The European General Affairs Council adopted conclusions on Monday to strengthen cybersecurity and cyber resilience throughout the European Union, including the development of a certification framework.

The council conclusions “stress the need” for individual EU countries to put more resources into addressing cybersecurity and to to “set up a world-class European cybersecurity certification framework to increase trust in digital solutions,” according to a European Union Council press release.
