Credit union group backs Luetkemeyer's narrow breach-notice bill

The Credit Union National Association has come out in support of new consumer breach-notice legislation introduced Friday by a key House subcommittee chairman, which focuses solely on the financial sector.

The bill by Financial Services financial institutions and consumer credit subcommittee Chairman Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) will be marked up on Thursday, the committee has announced. The measure is “consistent with notification principles” backed by CUNA, the group said in a Friday release.
