EU report outlines recommendations for website authentication

The European Union Agency for Network and Information Security has issued a new report providing a “collection of strategies and actions” to verify the authenticity of European websites and promote consumer trust.

The report suggests that EU governments and web browser developers should “increase efforts to help end users understand the key role website authentication certificates play in protecting their personal information and their online transactions.”
