Senators to mark up ‘Internet of Things’ bill as early as April

A Senate committee could move forward with a bill establishing a national “Internet of Things” commission aimed at offering policy recommendations on security and privacy as early as April, according to a congressional source.

Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) last week introduced the Developing Innovation and Growing the Internet of Things “DIGIT” Act, and the Senate Commerce Committee is expected to mark up the bill in April, according to an aide in Fischer’s office. Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH)...
