SBA urges DOD to ease contractor burdens for cybersecurity

The Small Business Administration is urging the Defense Department to provide a one-time subsidy to small businesses to address some of the costs of complying with new cybersecurity requirements for the handling of sensitive unclassified information by contractors.

In its public comments, issued Feb. 29, the agency's Office of Advocacy recommends DOD “consider significant alternatives, such as collaborating with universities or other organizations to provide low-cost cybersecurity services to small businesses, or provides a one-time subsidy to small businesses...
