Sen. Collins renews push for cyber assessments, prompting industry opposition

Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) has filed an amendment requiring cybersecurity assessments of critical electric facilities as part of broader legislation intended to modernize the grid.

The move is a renewed effort by Collins to enact the cyber-assesment provision following its rejection during the info-sharing debate late last year, and has once ignited industry opposition to the mandatory reviews.
