Cyber bill lobbying focuses on Collins infrastructure language

Industry lobbyists in meetings on Capitol Hill this week pressed for removal of critical infrastructure reporting requirements contained in the Senate version of cyber information-sharing legislation, while Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) defended the language from what she called “surprising” attacks.

Lobbyists made removal of the so-called section 407 language the centerpiece of meetings this week with congressional staff on the info-sharing legislation, which awaits endgame negotiations to reconcile House- and Senate-passed versions.
