NHTSA official: Security management system critical to auto cyber technology

The development of a security credential management system is a top policy challenge to rollout of new cyber devices intended to improve driver safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s chief counsel said Monday.

“Security’s a big issue here,” Kevin Vincent, NHTSA’s chief counsel, said at a Center for Strategic and International Studies event dubbed “Driving the Internet of Things.”
