Justice Dept. posts advance notice of proposal for limiting data transfers to ‘countries of concern’

The Justice Department has posted an advance notice of proposed rulemaking on preventing access to personal and government data by foreign adversaries, under a Biden executive order that targets the role of data brokers and highlights artificial intelligence-related threats such as AI-powered cyber attacks and the use of American citizens’ data by hostile powers to advance their use of the technology.
