Commerce Dept. seeks input on security ahead of Open RAN grant program launch

The Commerce Department is seeking feedback to inform an upcoming grant program funded by Congress to encourage investments in open and interoperable Radio Access Networks, with a focus on security and standards development.

The $1.5 billion grant program will be administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. It was created in the CHIPS and Science Act that also includes a $52 billion investment for semiconductor production in the United States.
