Wireless companies urge FCC to accept 'discounts' for use of personal data

Industry officials representing wireless communications met with staff for the Federal Communications Commission to argue that final privacy regulations should allow consumers to grant permission for the commercial use of their personal information in exchange for “discounts” in internet and other services.
