Senate energy panel OKs shielding utility cybersecurity data from disclosure

Sensitive cybersecurity data in the energy sector would be protected from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act and state disclosure laws under an amendment approved Wednesday as the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee continued its work on a far-reaching energy bill.

The committee began marking up the comprehensive energy bill by Chairwoman Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and ranking member Maria Cantwell (D-WA) on Tuesday and is expected to complete consideration today.
