Officials: DHS reorganization will benefit chemical sector, improve cyber-physical security efforts

Department of Homeland Security officials Wednesday said a pending reorganization of DHS cybersecurity offices would provide the chemical sector with a more integrated approach to cyber and physical threats, as well as help harmonize ongoing efforts to implement cybersecurity requirements under regulation for high-risk chemical facilities.

During the department’s annual chemical security summit in Alexandria, VA, officials touted a reorganization of the department’s National Protection and Programs Directorate as an opportunity to further integrate the cyber and physical security missions...
