NIST issues framework for cyber-physical systems addressing security, privacy

The National Institute of Standards and Technology on Thursday released version 1.0 of a framework of standards to help developers of “cyber-physical systems” build cybersecurity and privacy into their designs.

The release of the new framework comes after nearly two years of engaging industry, academia and government agencies through a public working group. The group has examined how to standardize cyber-physical systems development to assure “trustworthiness” of emerging technologies, including methods to “build in” security and privacy.
