McCain presses administration on lack of cyber deterrence policy

Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain (R-AZ) has sent Director of National Intelligence James Clapper a letter demanding an explanation for the Obama administration’s delay in establishing a cyber deterrence policy required by law.

The fiscal 2014 Defense Authorization Act directed the administration to produce a report by September 2014 on an integrated policy to deter adversaries in cyberspace. McCain has repeatedly pressed the administration to hand over the report to no avail.
