Industry seeks expanded cyber deterrence policy including stronger DOJ authority

Industry officials are urging the Obama administration to adopt policies that would boost deterrence by increasing the costs for cyber attacks from foreigners on U.S.-based businesses, sources say, including a pending proposal in the Senate that would allow the Justice Department to impose stiffer penalties for cyber thefts.
