Industry: Companies focus on encryption, biometrics to secure Internet of Things

Industry officials are stressing companies' efforts to implement top cybersecurity and privacy protections in their Internet of Things devices ahead of deployment, citing technological advances and promotion of security best practices to assure consumers of product safety while also calling for some action by government to promote public-private partnerships.
