House homeland security panel to examine SAFETY Act role in cyber

A House Homeland Security subcommittee today will discuss the benefits of the SAFETY Act anti-terror liability protection law as a cybersecurity tool, with an eye toward moving legislation in the fall.

Legislation clarifying that the SAFETY Act applies to cybersecurity products passed the full House last year but fell out of the final package of cyber bills that were passed and signed into law in December at the end of the 113th Congress.
