Commerce Dept. sets date for Internet of Things workshop

The Commerce Department's National Telecommunications and Information Administration will hold a workshop on Sept. 1 to gather more recommendations about Internet of Things policy, in an ongoing effort to draft an “issue-spotting, agenda-setting” policy green paper that could address cybersecurity and privacy.

The workshop will be held in Alexandria, VA, and will “explore in more depth the obstacles and opportunities raised by commenters on the federal government's role in IoT deployment,” according to a Federal Register notice.
