California AG cites data breach hike to call for harmonized state rules

An official with the California attorney general's office cited a recently released four-year review of data breaches to call for a harmonization of states' requirements, and said California  is working with other state attorneys general and state lawmakers on a nationwide baseline for reporting intrusions.
