National Assn. of Secretaries of State adopts 'interim position' supporting future federal election-security funds

The executive board of the National Association of Secretaries of State voted Friday to adopt an “interim position” on potential future federal election-security funding, calling on Congress to provide more money to states to bolster cybersecurity, and to ensure this funding can be used “flexibly."

“The nation’s Secretaries of State believe federal, state and local governments must work in cooperation to secure our nation’s election infrastructure and improve election systems,” the NASS executive board wrote in the interim rule....
