Proposal by Commerce's NTIA urges 'creative thinking' in privacy and data security governance

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration is calling for “creative thinking” to establish a structure for governing digital privacy and data security that would provide legal clarity for the private sector and be globally interoperable, while avoiding prescriptive measures in favor of risk-based practices it says would provide the flexibility necessary for innovation.
