U.S.-China commission links IT modernization fund to mitigating supply-chain risks

A congressional advisory group is recommending that any government agency receiving funds to update its information technology be required to review supply-chain risks, in order to mitigate cyber threats from China.

Chinese government policies “have heightened risks to the U.S. [information and communications technology] supply chain, and to U.S. national and economic security,” according to the key findings of a report released by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on Thursday.
