House Energy and Commerce leaders set to move forward on bipartisan DOE cyber bills

The bipartisan leadership of the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Wednesday expressed support for a new cybersecurity office at the Department of Energy, while pledging to move forward on four bills meant to modernize cybersecurity and emergency response efforts in the energy sector.

The bills, introduced by committee members, were discussed at a House Energy and Commerce energy subcommittee hearing and will likely be pushed for markup sometime soon, according to committee leaders.
