Commerce Department issues official comment request on landmark ‘botnet’ report

The Commerce Department on Wednesday issued a formal notice in the Federal Register seeking public feedback on a landmark report on defending against automated cyber “botnet” attacks, part of a broader initiative established under President Trump’s May 2017 cybersecurity executive order.

The notice states that the department is seeking comment on the guide, issued on Jan. 5, through 5 p.m. on Feb. 12. Written comments may be submitted to the department via email at counter_botnet@list.commerce.gov.
