Report: A quarter of emails claiming to be from federal agencies are fraudulent

About 25 percent of emails claiming to be from federal agencies are either fraudulent or unauthenticated, according to a report published Thursday.

The “U.S. Federal Government DMARC Adoption Report,” which was put together by cybersecurity company Agari, found that of the 400 domains protected by Agari systems, 90 percent have been targeted with deceptive emails from federal agencies.
