Software industry group praises FCC net neutrality repeal for boosting security, privacy

The Software and Information Industry Association says the Federal Communications Commission’s plan to repeal the Obama-era net neutrality order would offer a “positive impact” on security and privacy of consumer data held by broadband internet service providers.

The SIIA says in reply comments on the commission’s proposal to repeal net neutrality that it would allow for a more “robust, uniform privacy regime” under the Federal Trade Commission’s jurisdiction.
