Departure of State Dept. cyber coordinator reflects broader restructuring plans

The State Department's coordinator for cyber issues, Christopher Painter, will be leaving his post at the end of the month, as part of a broader department-wide reorganization that could shift some his responsibilities to other officials.

"The State Department is currently undergoing an employee-led re-design initiative and there are no predetermined outcomes‎,” according to a State Department official. “During this process, we are committed to ensuring the Department is addressing such issues in the most effective and efficient way possible....
