Coast Guard issues guidance for regulated maritime facilities to reduce cyber risk

The U.S. Coast Guard today released draft guidelines for addressing cybersecurity risks at Maritime Transportation Security Act regulated facilities.

The Coast Guard announced in the Federal Register the availability of a draft Navigation and Inspection Circular that addresses cybersecurity for maritime facilities. It will accept feedback on “the necessity, robustness, implementation, and costs of the proposed cybersecurity guidance” until Sept. 10.
