Former DHS official Spaulding cites better cyber-physical integration as unfinished business

The Department of Homeland Security's former deputy undersecretary, Suzanne Spaulding, listed the continued inability to fully integrate cyber and physical protections into a holistic approach to cybersecurity as a key piece of unfinished business left by the Obama administration.

“My greatest frustration,” Spaulding said, “is that I failed to institutionalize that holistic approach” across the department's National Protection and Programs Directorate, which she led until January when the Obama administration left office.
