Peters and Portman offer cyber incident reporting bill, would require informing CISA of ransomware payments

The bipartisan leaders of the Senate Homeland Security Committee have introduced a cyber incident-reporting bill that would require critical infrastructure operators to report to CISA when they suffer cyber attacks, and would mandate that “most entities” must report when making ransomware payments.

The bill was released today by Homeland Security Chairman Gary Peters (D-MI) and ranking member Rob Portman (R-OH).
