FCC approves notice of inquiry to collect feedback on Open Radio Access Networks potential

The Federal Communications Commission has voted unanimously to adopt a notice of inquiry to explore the “opportunities and potential challenges” of Open Radio Access Networks and ways the commission could support its development, amid efforts to secure telecom supply chains from potentially untrustworthy foreign-made equipment.
