House lawmakers eye federal procurement changes in response to SolarWinds hack

Eliminating barriers to public-private information sharing by revising government procurement rules emerged as a potential federal response to the SolarWinds hack, during a joint hearing Friday by the House homeland security and oversight committees.

Changes to federal procurement regulations and contract requirements was a point of agreement among committee leaders and company executives from SolarWinds, Microsoft and FireEye, as part of discussions about how to prevent future attacks.
