FCC approves order to formalize ‘Team Telecom’ review process for foreign participation in U.S. networks

The Federal Communications Commission has voted unanimously to approve a report and order changing how the agency reviews applications from foreign entities that want to participate in the U.S. telecom market.

The new rules and procedures in the order, approved today, build on a notice of proposed rulemaking issued in June 2016 and an April Executive Order that established the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector.
