State Dept. cyber leader Strayer decamps for senior post at leading tech trade association

Robert Strayer, the State Department’s top cybersecurity official, is leaving government for a senior position at the Information Technology Industry Council after serving at the forefront of Trump administration efforts to rally allies against use of technology from firms seen as under the influence of the Chinese government.

Strayer, who departs as deputy assistant secretary for cyber and international communications and information policy, spoke last week on 5G security policy at a forum hosted by the Telecommunications Industry Association. ...
