DOD accreditation meeting to set path for cyber certification program next year

The Defense Department is hosting a meeting today with representatives from industry and standards-writing organizations on establishing an accreditation body for the auditors of a landmark cybersecurity certification program for contractors expected to be launched early next year.

The meeting, hosted by the Professional Services Council, has been capped at 175 participants and is intended to hash out initial details for accrediting the third-party auditors that will be expected to eventually certify several hundred thousand defense contractors.
