Pentagon readies new policy for software acquisition 'pathway'

The Pentagon has drafted a new policy to guide software acquisitions, and officials are preparing to test out the pathway next month, according to documents obtained by Inside Defense.

The July 2 policy, labeled "draft/pre-decisional," sets directions for software acquisition, development and delivery. The policy lays out the processes DOD officials should follow "to enable successful software acquisition and development" and "promotes continuous integration and continuous delivery of user capabilities," according to the document.
