Election-security triangle: House move, Senate block and White House objection

The House is getting ready to vote on a Democratic election-security bill amid a running patter of GOP criticism, while a procedural move by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) would block efforts to amend the National Defense Authorization Act with election-security provisions, and the White House singled out additional election funding to states in a veto threat aimed at a separate spending bill.
