NIST extends deadline for input on Trump-ordered Artificial Intelligence plan

GAITHERSBURG, MD. Stakeholders have ten more days to comment on a plan the National Institute of Standards and Technology is developing to inform federal engagement in the standards-setting process for artificial intelligence, including standards for privacy and cybersecurity.

The deadline to respond to NIST’s request for information is now June 10. NIST plans to publish a draft of the plan shortly after, in the “second or third week of June,” in advance of its Aug. 10 deadline for completing it...
