House Science Committee leaders letter seeking information on FDIC data-breach response

On April 19, 2018, House Science Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) and House Science oversight subcommittee Chairman Ralph Abraham (R-LA) sent a letter to Charles Yi, general counsel for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, requesting information on “accountability measures” taken in the wake of an Inspector General report detailing a “culture of concealment” in not fully reporting data breaches to Congress, and cybersecurity issues at the FDIC.
