White House praised for industry-friendly principles to regulate AI while technical standards remain in infancy

Leading industry groups welcomed the release of principles White House officials say will boost innovation in artificial intelligence by reducing uncertainty over federal agencies’ regulatory efforts, but technical standards for key concepts -- such as “safety,” and “transparency” -- are yet to be established for the technology with vast implications for privacy and cybersecurity.
