White House cybersecurity official stepping down

White House cybersecurity official Ari Schwartz is stepping down from his position effective today, Schwartz said today in an email to friends and colleagues.

"Today is my last day at the National Security Council," wrote Schwartz, the special assistant to the president and senior director for cybersecurity programs, who serves under Michael Daniel, the White House's cybersecurity coordinator.
