White House budget office updates policy on personal-data protections for federal employees

With slightly more than two weeks to go before leaving office, officials at the White House Office of Management and Budget have issued guidance for all federal agencies on preparing for and responding to a data breach involving personal information.

The guidelines update requirements issued 10 years ago and include recommendations issued last year to department heads on developing a cybersecurity strategy.
