Warner pledges to introduce privacy legislation next year to regulate social media platforms

Senate Intelligence ranking member Mark Warner (D-VA) said Thursday that he will “have some legislation” in areas such as consumer privacy on social media sometime in the new year, adding that “policy makers should step in” to create some form of regulation of social media companies.

“I think there will be an active privacy debate, I will have some legislation in this field...that is one of the first areas we can get into,” Warner said while speaking at an event...
